The Process

I'm happy to receive briefs by email or post and no job is too big or too small.  Whether it's a Word document, print-ready artwork or even website copy on screen, I will read it thoroughly, cross-check for any errors and inconsistencies, and then clearly mark it up using internationally recognised proofreading symbols. I can also mark up work in a simpler way for any clients who may be unfamiliar with standard proofreading symbols.  The job can then be returned either as a PDF of the scanned work via email or as a hard copy in the post (if requested, and time allows).

Alternatively, if you prefer your work to be proofread on screen, I can use Microsoft Word track changes and return your work electronically (leaving you to accept or delete any amends).

I can proofread against supplied previous copy, or blind (without reference to the original version). Basic editing is included as part of the service.  The main things I check for are typos, incorrect spelling and punctuation, bad grammar, as well as consistency of language and style.
